Taboo Word, Drinking Game Rules

Ban one everyday word for the night. That's the whole game, and it works.

Setup: As a group, choose a word people can't help saying: "drink," "like," "phone," or someone's name.

How to play:

1. The word is now forbidden for the rest of the night, in any context.
2. Anyone who says it, and is caught by another player calling it out, takes a sip.
3. As the night goes on, add a second and third banned word. Keep a visible list if memory gets shaky.

Taboo Word, Variations

• Personal words: Each player is assigned their own banned word by the person to their left.
• The bell: Put a bell or buzzer on the table, catching someone means ringing it, which is deeply satisfying.
• Word inflation: Add one new banned word every 30 minutes; keep the list posted where everyone can see it.
