Red or Black, Drinking Game Rules

A coin flip with cards, the easiest icebreaker there is.

Setup: Just a shuffled deck.

How to play:

1. On your turn, say "red" or "black."
2. Flip the top card. Hearts and diamonds are red; clubs and spades are black.
3. Wrong = take a sip. Right = give a sip to anyone. Turn passes left.

Streak variation: Keep guessing while you're right, each correct call adds one more sip to give away. Miss and you drink your streak instead.

Red or Black, Variations

• Suit bonus: Call the exact suit instead of the color, right = give 4, wrong = drink 1.
• King of the deck: Keep guessing while correct, banking one give-away sip per success; a miss makes you drink the bank.
• Opening ritual: Many groups use one lap of Red or Black as the warm-up before a bigger card game.
