Moose, Drinking Game Rules

A dice game with a reflex trap: when the Moose appears, everyone needs antlers, fast.

Setup: 2 dice, everyone around a table. (Moose has many regional versions, this is a clean, common one. Agree on your rules first.)

How to play: Take turns rolling both dice:

• Any doubles, MOOSE! Everyone immediately throws both hands to their head, fingers spread, like antlers. The last person with antlers up drinks 2 sips.
• Total of 7: the roller drinks 1.
• Total of 11: the roller picks anyone to drink 1.
• Anything else: pass the dice left.

Anyone who throws antlers up when there was no double drinks 2 for the false alarm.

Moose, Variations

• The filling cup (major regional version): A center glass sits in the middle; certain rolls (often 7) make the roller pour in some beer, and another trigger (often doubles after the cup has beer) makes the roller drink it all. Many campuses play Moose exclusively this way.
• One-antler warning: First false antler of the night costs 1 sip; repeat offenders finish their drink.
• Silent moose: No shouting allowed, the double is rolled in silence and only antlers count, making it much easier to miss.
