Category: Dice Games · Players: 2+ · You’ll need: 5 dice per player; cups; drinks
Everyone rolls in secret, then bids on what's on the whole table, truth optional.
Setup: Each player needs 5 dice and a cup to hide them under. 1s are wild (they count as any number).
How to play (each round):
Everyone shakes their cup, slams it down, and peeks at their own dice only.
The first player bids on the total across all players' dice combined: e.g. "five 4s" means "there are at least five dice showing 4 (or the wild 1) on this table."
Going left, each player must either raise the bid, more dice ("six 4s") or the same count of a higher face ("five 6s"), or call "Liar!"
On "Liar," everyone lifts their cups and counts that face (plus 1s). If the bid was good, the caller drinks 3 sips; if the bid was short, the bidder drinks 3.
Whoever drank starts the next round's bidding.
Liar's Dice Drinking Version, Variations
Elimination (classic): Losers of a challenge also lose one die; run out of dice and you're out, last player standing gives out 5 sips.
Spot on: Instead of “Liar,” call “exactly right” on the current bid, if the count is exact, everyone else drinks 2.
No wilds: 1s count only as 1s, tighter bids, braver lies.
