Liar's Dice Drinking Version, Drinking Game Rules

Category: Dice Games · Players: 2+ · You’ll need: 5 dice per player; cups; drinks

Everyone rolls in secret, then bids on what's on the whole table, truth optional.

Setup: Each player needs 5 dice and a cup to hide them under. 1s are wild (they count as any number).

How to play (each round):

  1. Everyone shakes their cup, slams it down, and peeks at their own dice only.
  2. The first player bids on the total across all players' dice combined: e.g. "five 4s" means "there are at least five dice showing 4 (or the wild 1) on this table."
  3. Going left, each player must either raise the bid, more dice ("six 4s") or the same count of a higher face ("five 6s"), or call "Liar!"
  4. On "Liar," everyone lifts their cups and counts that face (plus 1s). If the bid was good, the caller drinks 3 sips; if the bid was short, the bidder drinks 3.
  5. Whoever drank starts the next round's bidding.
