Higher or Lower, Drinking Game Rules

The simplest guessing game with a deck: call whether the next card beats the current one.

Setup: Shuffle and flip one card face-up. Aces high.

How to play:

1. The active player says "higher" or "lower," predicting the next card against the face-up one.
2. Flip it. Wrong (or an exact tie) = drink 1 sip. Right = safe.
3. The new card becomes the reference card, and the turn passes left.

Streak variation: Keep guessing while you're right, handing out 1 sip per correct call. Your first miss ends the turn and you drink 1 sip for each card in your streak.

Higher or Lower, Variations

• Full-deck challenge: The group tries to correctly call the entire deck; every miss resets a group counter, and record runs earn the right to hand out drinks.
• Ties safe: A friendlier table rules exact ties as a push, no one drinks.
• Double or nothing: After a correct call you may bank it or call again; a miss on a re-call doubles your sips.
