Cheers to the Governor / 21, Drinking Game Rules

Count to 21 together, but every round adds a new rule until counting is chaos.

Setup: Circle, drinks.

How to play:

1. Going around the circle, each player says the next number, starting from 1, aiming for 21.
2. Whoever says 21 shouts "Cheers to the Governor!", everyone drinks, and that player invents a rule that changes the count from now on. Examples: "replace 5 with 'banana'," "say 8 and 9 in reverse order," "clap instead of saying 12."
3. Restart from 1 with all rules in effect. Rules stack every round.
4. Any mistake, wrong number, forgotten rule, hesitation, means that player drinks and the count restarts from 1.

By round five, reaching 21 is a genuine achievement.

Cheers to the Governor / 21, Variations

• Pre-loaded rules: Start with the two traditional ones, 7 and 11 are swapped, so the game begins spicy.
• Count to 30: A longer runway means more rules stack before each Governor.
• Multi-say: Players may say one, two, or three consecutive numbers on their turn, letting the table steer who lands on 21.
